Air Force Non-Combatant Recruitment 2024 Eligibility
Qualification:
- Candidates should have passed Matriculation / Equivalent examination from “Education Boards recognized by Central, State and UT as on date of registration shall only be considered”.
Marital Status:
- Only unmarried male candidates will be eligible for enrolment as Agniveervayu Non-Combatants and they shall undertake not to marry during the defined engagement period of four years. Keeping in view the limited period of engagement of Agniveervayu Non-Combatant inclusive of training, skill development activities, practical as well as formative assessment and organisational requirement of continued service of Agniveervayu Non-Combatant during the engagement period, longer absence of Agniveervayu Non-Combatant during the engagement period will adversely affect the operational efficiency of the Indian Air Force.
- Agniveervayu Non-Combatant who marry during the said period shall be discharged from the service. Further, only unmarried Agniveervayu Non-Combatants will be eligible for selection in regular cadre as NCs(E).
- At the time of enrolment, candidates shall require to sign a voluntary undertaking accepting above conditions.
Mandatory Medical Standards:
General Medical Standards for Agniveervayu Non-Combatant are as follows: –
- Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152 cm.
- Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
- Vision requirements as applicable as per Indian Air Force standards.
- Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
- Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.
- General Health: Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss or deformity of any appendages. He should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments. Candidate shall be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.

Air Force Agniveer Vayu Non-Combatant Exam Pattern 2024
Phase – I (Written Test):
The written test will be conducted at the IAF Station/location where the candidate has
submitted his application. Written tests will be common for both streams. A min aggregate
score of 10 is required for a candidate to pass a written examination. The subject wise
breakdown of written test are as follows: –

Phase – II (Physical Fitness Test):
- Only candidates who have passed written test will be permitted to appear in Physical Fitness Test. Depending on the number of candidates passing written test, a decision may be taken to permit either all candidates to appear for PFT or restrict it to a ratio, in the order of written test merit.
- To the extent possible, Physical Fitness Test will be conducted on same day of the written test.
- However, candidates should be prepared to stay at own expenses if the test cannot be conducted on the same day, in which case it will be conducted on next day.
- PFT will be common and qualifying in nature for both streams. Candidates will have to submit ‘Consent Certificate’ signed by legal guardian or self before commencement of Physical Fitness Test. The candidates will be subjected to tests as explained in succeeding paragraphs.
- Height Check. Candidates shall be checked for min acceptable height of 152 Cms. Candidates below stipulated height requirement will be disqualified and not to be taken for any further tests.
Physical Fitness Test – 1 (PFT-1). Only candidates qualifying height check will be
permitted to appear in PFT -1, which would be a 1.6 Km run to be completed within
6.30 minutes (six minutes thirty seconds). If the PFT is conducted in High Altitude areas,
the above timing will be suitably modified as per the following: –
- Up to 5000 feet: Nil
- 5001 to 9000 feet : Additional 30 Seconds
- 9001 to 12000 feet : Additional 120 seconds
Physical Fitness Test – 2 (PFT-2). Only candidates qualifying in PFT -1 will be
permitted to appear in PFT-2. Candidates may familiarize themselves with test procedure by
watching demo videos for PFT-2 uploaded under Non-Combatants tab of web portal
https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in. In order to qualify in PFT-2, candidates should complete
10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups and 20 squats within stipulated time as per the following: –

Phase – III (Stream Suitability Test):
- The Stream Suitability Test (SST) shall be qualifying in nature and a certain ratio of candidates, in order of merit, who have passed written test and PFT may be administered this test. Candidate Should be willing to undergo training and perform any tasks in the stream and score a min of 50% aggregate (15 marks) to qualify in SST. Unwillingness to perform any specific tasks associated with the stream will lead to disqualification of the candidate in SST.
Phase –IV (Medical Examination):
Medical Examination. A certain number of candidates as per merit who have qualified in stream Suitability test will be medically examined at designated place. Medical examination shall be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and policy in vogue on subject issue.
Job Profile for Air Force Agniveer Vayu Non-Combatant Recruitment 2024
- Candidates selected as “Agniveervayu Non-Combatant” will, in addition to specific duties assigned to them in organizational interest, be required to perform various duties and tasks, as assigned from time to time, under Hospitality or Housekeeping Streams.
Hospitality Stream:
In this stream, an individual is expected to perform all jobs/task associated with cooking, kitchen management, presentation of dishes, maintain sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen, safe storage of food and other items, handling of crockery, cutlery, refrigeration etc., laying of tables / chairs and serving of food, water etc.
Housekeeping Stream:
In this stream, an individual is expected to perform alljobs / task associated with cleaning of floors / roads / rooms / bathroom / commodes / urinals etc., making of brooms, grass / hedge cutting, ground leveling / digging of trenches, watering of garden, washing of utensils / clothes, filling & carrying of water, handling of office equipment. Additionally, an individual would also be tasked to perform jobs associated with hair cutting, shaving, head massage, ironing clothes, stitching of leather items / sole making, repair of leather items, shoe polishing, cutting/ stitching / alteration / darning of garments and making ribbons, badges etc.
Pay, Allowances and Allied Benefits
- Agniveervayu Non-Combatant enrolled under this Scheme will be paid an Agniveer package of Rs. 30,000/– per month with a fixed yearly increment.
- In addition, Risk and Hardship allowances (as applicable in IAF), Dress and Travel allowances will be paid. Perks such as ration, clothing, accommodation and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) shall also be provided as per the existing rules.
Terminal Benefits – Seva Nidhi Package :The Seva Nidhi Package is a terminal benefit provided to Agniveers who complete their four-year engagement period in the Indian Air Force.
