OSSC Staff Nurse Pharmacist ANM Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

a. General criteria of eligibility: –
Candidates applying for the above post should be

• a citizen of India,
• of good character,
• of sound health, good physique and free from organic defects or bodily infirmity
• If married, must not have more than one spouse living
• Must be able to read, write and speak Odia fluently and :-

• Must have passed Middle School Examination with Odia as language subject, or
• Must have passed HSC Examination or equivalent examination with Odia as Medium of examination in non-language subject, or
• Must have passed in Odia as language subject in the final examination of Class-VII or above from a school or educational institution recognised by the Govt. of Odisha or the Central Govt., or
• Must have passed a test in Odia in Middle English School standard conducted by the School and Mass Education Department, Govt. of Odisha.

ANM (For female Only):

• Must have passed Higher secondary School Certificate +2 Examination and passed Health worker Female Training course conducted by Odisha State Nursing and Midwives Board or passed out from INC (Indian Nursing Council) approved institutions either Govt. or Private and having Odisha Nursing Council Registration.

Junior Laboratory Technician:

• +2 Science with diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology and have registered themselves under State Board of Medical Laboratory Technician of Odisha.

Pharmacist:

• +2 Science with diploma in Pharmacy from AICTE approved institutions and have registered themselves under Pharmacy council of Odisha. Candidates having Bachelor in Pharmacy from AICTE approved institutions and have registered themselves under Pharmacy council of Odisha are also eligible to apply.

Staff Nurse (For female Only)

• +2 Science with GNM from any INC approved institution. Candidates having B. Sc. Nursing are also eligible to apply. The candidates must have registered under Nursing Board of Odisha.

• Written Test: The primary screening method is a written examination, usually consisting of questions from relevant subjects (nursing, pharmacy, or the technical field).
• Certificate Verification: After clearing the written exam, shortlisted candidates undergo certificate verification to ensure they meet all eligibility criteria.
• Merit List: Final selection is based on the marks obtained in the written exam and the successful completion of certificate verification​.

Exam Pattern For OSSC Staff Nurse, Pharmacist, ANM & Other Recruitment 2024

Preliminary Examination:

If number of valid applications are large i.e. more than 5000 for any post, then Preliminary Examination will be conducted for the same post. The syllabus of the Preliminary Examination will be as follows:

• Arithmetic- 10th standard
• Data Interpretation (Chart, Graph, Table, Data sufficiency etc.)- 10th standard
• Logical Reasoning and Analytical ability, General Mental ability
• The general issue of environment/ Climate change- 10th standard
• Current events of National and International importance
• Computer/ Internet awareness.

Main Written Examination:-

• Total Marks: 200 (Multiple Choice Questions/ Objective Type Questions)
• The syllabus of the Examination is enclosed as Annexure-C.
• Details about the type of questions, mode of examination, duration of the examination, number of questions etc. will be shared in due course on the website through Notice.

Certificate Verification:-

• Candidates numbering approximately 2 (two) times of the vacancies advertised (Post Wise & Category-wise) shall be shortlisted for Certificate Verification based on the marks secured in the Main Written Examination.
